The best way to understand College of the Atlantic is to experience it for yourself. At our Admitted Students’ Reception you’ll be able to immerse yourself in the COA community, meet future classmates, ask all your questions, try our award winning food, dip your toes (or more) in the ocean, and, most importantly, imagine yourself here for the next four years.

What’s planned

During the Admitted Students’ Reception, you’ll have a chance to:

  • Take a tour of campus led by a current student.
  • Roll up your intellectual sleeves and attend classes on a typical weekday.
  • Make appointments to speak to financial aid staff, college faculty, student life staff, or an admission counselor. We’re here to help answer your questions.
  • Get to know Mount Desert Island on a student-led field trip. Trips are likely to include volunteering at Beech Hill Farm, a paddle on a local creek, a harbor walk, and a trip to Sand Beach in Acadia National Park. Indicate your top choice when you RSVP. You’ll probably want to bring your raincoat— weather doesn’t typically stop us from getting outside!
  • Try our delicious food (did we mention we’re ranked among the best in the nation for campus food?) If you’re vegan, gluten-free, vegetarian, or allergic to anything, just let us know when you RSVP.
  • Stay overnight in one of our campus residences.
