COA Phone System
Q. Do the dorms have phones?
A. A community phone is located in the common rooms of every dorm on campus. Please contact your resident advisor if you do not know the phone number to your dorm.
Q. How do I make a call on a dormitory phone?
A. You dial 9 and then the number that you wish to call.
Q. Can I get my own land-line phone?
A. Yes, and you will need to call FairPoint Communications to have that set up (855) 364-5808
Q. What cell phone services are available in the Bar Harbor area?
A. AT&T, Verizon Wireless, US Cellular
Computer Support
Q. Where is Computer Services located?
A. The IT department is located on the lower level in the Arts and Sciences building.
Q. What are the IT Department hours?
A. We have a Help Desk that is usually staffed from 8 am–4 pm
throughout the academic year. The fastest way to get help is to email helpdesk@coa.edu.
Q. What type of support does the department offer students?
A. We provide the following support to students: setting up academic
software, maintaining antivirus software, removing viruses,
troubleshooting network issues or any other issues related to COA
accounts. We also have a variety of self-help documents online and have
computer tutors available during the academic year. We do not offer
hardware support as this could void warranties.

Q. What computer companies offer educational discounts?
A. COA students, faculty and staff can get discounts from many computer companies, here are some examples:
