A-V Equipment

Circulating Equipment

Equipment available for checkout at the Thorndike Library falls under three categories:

Equipment with no restrictions
Tape Players/Recorders • CD Players • Battery Chargers • Media Card Readers
Audio/Video Cables and Adapters • Mini Disc Recorders • Slide Projectors
Binoculars • VGA Computer Adapters • LCD Projectors • Headphones
Portable Projection Screens • Point & Shoot Digital Cameras • SLR Cameras
PAL/NTSC DVD/VHS Player • Alesis Audio Mixing Board
Equipment with class and/or prior use restrictions

Heavily restricted equipment
(primarily used by A-V staff members and experienced staff, faculty and students)

Thorncat, the Library's online catalog, lists circulating A-V equipment. To reserve equipment, contact the Thorndike Library staff.

Classroom Equipment

TVs, VHS/DVD players, overheads, and screens are available in most classrooms. A few of our classrooms include LCD projectors and stereo receivers. Additional LCD projectors are available for checkout at the library. All classroom equipment can be accessed by anyone on campus with the exception of equipment in the Putnam room. This room's A-V cart must be unlocked with a key available for checkout through the Thorndike Library's circulation desk. There is a list of equipment available in all of our classrooms by building.
 
Rental Procedures
 
Gates Auditorium soundbooth • Light and sound equipment
Approval from the A-V Technology Specialist is necessary before the soundbooth can be used without a sound technician or House Manager. $25 per event.
 
Equipment Rental
Approval from the A-V Technology Specialist is necessary before these items can be used without a lighting/sound technician or House Manager. Items include LCD projectors, lectern/microphone, DVD/VHS player, slide projector, folding screens, TVs, presentation laptop computer. $15 per item.
