Meets the following requirements: ED
Educational psychology is not simply the application of psychological concepts to educational settings such as schools; rather educational psychology is an interaction between what we know about people as learners, schools as social learning environments, people in relation to each other, and differences between individuals. Effective teaching and learning requires an understanding of another person's way of making sense of knowledge and information, and working from that perspective to challenge and support their efforts in learning. This course surveys the research and theories of educational psychology, exploring several major topics: the context of school and schooling, cognitive development, social and moral development, intelligence, learning and motivation, technology and education, multicultural education, teaching and learning styles, classroom management, and classroom structures and strategies.
