"The best part about COA is the availability of the professors...to give extra help or help you organize your own research."

Learning Theory - ED031

Meets the following requirements: HS ED

Belief systems about how people learn often guide child-rearing and schooling practices.  This
course examines competing learning theories, including those of cognitive and behavioral
scientists, philosophers, psychologists and educators.  Students are encouraged to explore the
pedagogical, personal and social implications of these ideas and to experiment with their own
assumptions about learning.  In addition, students are expected to complete a practicum component
in which they act as teaching assistants for COA classes.

Level:  Advanced.  Offered every other year.   Class size: 20.  *ED*  *HS*
