Marine Mammal Biology II: Special Topics - ES319

Meets the following requirements: ES   

This course builds on the skills and knowledge developed in Marine Mammal Biology I. The first half of the course involves a review of specific issues in marine mammalogy, including a detailed examination of behavior, sensory ecology, and conservation. The second half of the course consists of individual student presentations and seminars based on selected topics provided at the beginning of the term. Throughout the semester field trips are used to develop a practical knowledge of marine mammals and scientific methodology. Assessment is based upon a term paper arising from the individual's selected topic, a written exam, and class participation.

Level:  Intermediate.  Prerequisite: Marine Mammal Biology I.  Class limit: 16.  Lab fee: $50.  *ES*
