Named for the 17th Century explorer Samuel de Champlain, who discovered Mount Desert Island, the Champlain Society recognizes the committed and generous donors who make contributions of $1,500 or more to the annual operating fund of College of the Atlantic. Champlain Society members know that their support of COA's educational programs is critical to advancing the mission of the college.
Champlain Society membership affords a variety of opportunities to experience the best of COA through special events and presentations in the Blum Gallery and a host of concerts, plays, dinners and gatherings with environmental, scientific, and cultural luminaries.
