Ecological Policy and Planning After COA

Fifty-five percent of COA graduates enter graduate or professional school within five years of graduating. The following is a list of some recent graduates who focus in Ecological Policy and Planning:

Marty Anderson (1994) is the Executive Director of the Great Auk Land Trust.

Carrie Banks (2001) is the Coordinator/team organizer for the Westfield River Basin, National Park Service Rivers and Trails and Massachusetts Riverways Programs.

Mike Blair (1995) is the President of Blair Technologies (Infosystems/GIS Consulting).

Oliver Carley (1996) is a land use policy analyst for 1,000 Friends of Pennsylvania.

Scott Dickerson (1995 MPhil) is the Executive Director of Coastal Mountains Land Trust.

Laurel Harris (1999) specializes in land use planning for affordable housing and habitat protection in Oregon.

Erin Heacock (2004) is an environmental planner for Keyspan Energy based in MA.

Tanya Higgins (2000) is a city planner for San Francisco and is currently pursuing a masters degree in Environmental Planning from the University of California Berkeley.

Justin Huston (1999) is the Coastal Zone Coordinator for the Nova Scotia Agriculture & Fisheries Department.

Sue Inches (1979) is the Deputy Director of the Maine State Planning Office.

Tora Johnson (2003 MPhil) is the director of the GIS center at University of Maine at Machias.

Leslie Jones (1991) received a JD from Vermont Law School and is lead Staff Attorney for The Wilderness Society.

Joe Kiernan (2001) is the Volunteer Coordinator for Scenic Hudson, Inc.

David Lamon (1991) is the Director of the Somes-Meynell Wildlife Sanctuary.

Andrea Lani (1995) is an Environmental Specialist with the Maine Department of Environmental Protection.

George Meservey (1987) is the Town Planner for the Town of Wareham, Massachusetts.

Jeff Miller (1992) is the Founder and Executive Director of the Bicycle Coalition of Maine.

Greg Milne (1991) is a Town Councilor for the Town of Barnstable, Massachusetts.

Justin Mortensen (2001) is at UC Berkeley in the Department of City and Regional Planning focusing on urban design and   planning.  He was a Peace Corps volunteer in Panama.

Colleen O'Brien (1993) is a Forest Recreation Planner with the Inyo National Forest in California. .

Briana Press (2002) is the GIS Business Analyst for GeoDecisions, a company specializing in GIS application development.

Jasmine Tanguay (1998) is a Community Involvement Specialist with the Conservation Law Foundation.

Amanda Walker (1998) is a Planning & Design Associate at Kent Associates in Gardiner, Maine.

Hua Wang (2004) is pursuing a Masters Degree in Urban Planning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Patrick Watson (1993) is a Project Manager with Maine Coast Heritage Trust.
