
Fifty-five percent of COA graduates enter graduate or professional school within five years of graduating. The following is a list of some recent graduates:
• Yaniv Brandvain (2004) won a Barry Goldwater Fellowship and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Evolution and Ecology at The University of Indiana. His research has been publish in the journal American Naturalist and Science magazine.
• Nicole Cabana (1999) is a NOAA Corps Officer stationed at the National Marine Fisheries Laboratory in Honolulu; one of her projects includes conducting ship-based operations cleaning fishing net debris from coral reefs.
• Erin Chalmers (2000) is an associate attorney with Sierra Club.
• Elizabeth Deliso (2002) was a research assistant at Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory and is currently pursuing a Master's at the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.
• Kate Devlin (1993) is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of New Brunswick studying Arctic Tern metapopulation biology.
• Ariel Durrant (2006) working at MDI Water Quality Coalition, Mount Desert, Maine.
• Sam Edmonds (2005) is doing bird research for The Nature Conservancy in New York.
• Jim Kellam (1996) received his Ph.D. from Purdue University and is currently a visiting assistant professor of Biology at Franklin and Marshall College.
• Geneva Langley (1994) is a botanist with Acadia National Park studying plant flowering times to predict climate change.
• Tori Lee Jackson (2000) graduated with a MS in Plant, Soil and Environmental Science and is working as a crop insurance education professional statewide in Maine.
• Jean de Marignac (1991) has a Master's in Shark Ecology and is currently working at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
• Chandreyee Mitra (2001) is working toward her Ph.D. in Behavioral Biology at the University of Nebraska.
• Melita Peharda Uljevr (1997) received her Ph.D. in Ecology from The University of Zagreb. She is currently working on the research staff at The University of Split's Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries in Split, Dubrovnik, Croatia.
• Nishanta Rajakaruna (1994) is a professor at College of the Atlantic.
• Volha Roshchanka (2004) is a research analyst for the World Resource Institute specializing in the Global Forest Watch Program
• Rick Schauffler (1983) earned his Master's at University of Massachusetts Amherst and is now doing GIS analyses for the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.
• Mike Shepard (2003) has been working with the Institute for Ecosystem studies on a project testing Sage Grouse for West Nile Virus.
• Genevieve Soloway Angle (2000) is a biologist for the US Environmental Protection Agency after completing her MS at George Washington University.
• Caitlin Unites (2003) is a Peace Corps volunteer in Madagascar.
• Peter Wayne (1983) received a Ph.D. from Harvard University in Ecology and Evolution. He is currently the Director of Research in Alternative Health Care for the New England School of Acupuncture.
