By Karen Hussey   Winter 2006

An Overview:
The maps for this project depict various water bodies on Mount Desert Island and characterize loon productivity for each (i.e. suitable habitat, water quality, human use, presence of loons, etc.) with the hope that they will be used for loon conservation in the future. The maps below are two of eleven maps created for this project.

Map Summary 1:
This map shows Common Loon productivity in Eagle Lake in Acadia National Park. The map was created in collaboration with the Biodiversity Research Institute.
