ESRI, maker of ArcGIS, ArcInfo, and several extensions. http://www.esri.com/

   ArcExplorer: ESRI's free lightweight GIS application for Mac or PC download and support. http://www.esri.com/software/arcexplorer/index.html

GRASS GIS (Geographic Resources Analysis Support System) is open source, free Geographical Information System (GIS) software with raster, topological vector, image processing, and graphics production functionality that operates on various platforms. http://grass.baylor.edu/
