Private Opening Reception and Public Lecture
Clyde Butcher: America the Beautiful

In collaboration with College of the Atlantic, Friends of Acadia presents a special exhibition featuring large scale black and white contact prints by American artist and environmentalist, Clyde Butcher. Join us for a private opening reception from 5 to 6 p.m to view the artist's homage to the abiding beauty that is the American landscape. At 7:00 p.m.  a lecture and book signing with the artist will be held in the Gates Center.

Champlain's Dream
An Evening with David Hackett Fischer
Lecture in Gates Community Center
Speaking on his latest book, College of the Atlantic Trustee and Pulitizer Prize-wining historian David Hackett Fisher will reveal to us uncovered details on the remarkable life of our society's namesake, the explorer Samuel de Champlain.
