Thorndike Library Mission

Library Mission Statement

The Thorndike Library actively participates in the mission of the College by providing access to information, archival, and audio-visual resources and rendering services that advance their use.

To meet this mission the library will:

*  Create a welcoming, engaging physical and virtual environment that stimulates intellectual curiosity.

*  Teach competency in the use of the Library's resources and foster skills that promote effective lifelong learning.

*  Provide access to collections with content and formats that support academic and personal fulfillment.

*  Collaborate and partner with the College community to advance and promote learning and intellectual discovery.

*  Serve as a primary educational resource for the College that is shared with others in the greater academic and non-academic communities.

*  Encourage, support, and sustain Library staff expertise, dedication, innovation, and creativity.
