MARINE AND WETLAND ECOLOGY
Two-week session: Residents $280 / Non residents $310
June 30th through July 10th
Exploring the rocky intertidal, scouting out a brackish estuary, paddling in a marsh will be some of the ways we'll look at the diversity of flora and fauna in local wetlands and the bays of Mount Desert Island. During this session we will also join in vernal pool research, assist with the eel grass project at Hadley Point, and learn about other conservation efforts in watersheds.
EDIBLES EXPLORATION
Two-week session: Residents $315 / Non-residents $350
July 14th through 24th
As we follow our food from its source to our table, we'll learn about wild edibles, local farms, and coastal fisheries. Does it matter where our food comes from? We'll talk to some of the people who grow, catch and cook food. While digging clams, gathering berries, or harvesting organically grown crops, we'll get a chance to think about how we sustain ourselves. While dining on the daily finds is not required, there will be plenty of opportunities to feast on the results of our culinary adventures.
WAYS OF THE WOODS
