Following the departure of Shawn Keeley '00 for Vermont's Green Mountain Club, COA is starting a search for the new Alumni Relations and Development Coordinator. More information on this position will be sent to alumni via email in the next few weeks. If you think you might be interested in the job and have any questions about what the alumni coordinator does, feel free to contact Shawn at skeeley@greenmountainclub.org or 802-233-6863.
Five years ago Ned Green, class of 1997, died in a climbing accident in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Over the past five years his mother, Clare Green, has been compiling his journal entries and poems from end-to-end hikes of Vermont's Long Trail into the newly released (May 2006) book, Cutting a Bond with the Long Trail.
All proceeds from the sale of this book will contribute to the Ned Green Scholarship Fund and The Green Mountain Club of Vermont (just a coincidence, honest).

In April, seven COA students attended the UN Convention on Biological Diversity and Bio-Safety Protocol negotiations in Curitiba, Brazil. They were the only students from the United States present.
In addition to organizing the youth movement at the conferences, they started the blog www.wheredidmygenesgo.org to share their experiences and the youth perspective.
