Alix has worked in collaborative land conservation, communications, and related fields for more than thirty years. She was founding executive director of Portland Trails and is the author of Groundswell: Stories of Saving Places, Finding Community. She lives on a farm in Pownal, Maine, and is a council member of Maine Coast Heritage Trust, board member of the Forest Society of Maine, and an advisory board member of QLF/Atlantic Center for the Environment, among others.
Alix Hopkins will speak at the Human Ecology Forum Tuesday, April 21st at 4:10 pm in the McCormick Lecture Hall. The title of her talk is “A Park is a Gift: Communicating the essence of conservation and community.” The talk is free and open to the public.
