The event, Spring to Summer, runs from from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. and is being organized by musician Jeana DeLaire of the band Attack Pattern Delta, which holds its debut that night.

Attack Pattern Delta has been described as a contemporary progressive rock/fusion group. Its members are DeLaire on guitar, Michael Hueter on bass, and Kelley Sharp on drums. Attack Pattern Delta plays mostly original music, some by DeLaire, most collaboratively composed, as well as covers of classic rock that range from Paul Simon and Phish to the Talking Heads and Frank Zappa.

Additional performers include singer-songwriter Colin Nevins, and the trio of Max Eddington, Evan James, and Ben Moniz, COA students all. Spring to Summer, which Jeana calls an “interplay of visual, tactile, and auditory harmony culminating in an intricate unraveling of original music,” is part of her senior project.

But music will be only some of the enchantment of the night. Other events include a light show, videos, a hula hoop extravaganza, jugglers, unicyclists, and Rachel Drattler performing silk dancing—a form of aerial dancing using suspended silk.

In addition there will be displays by COA artists, including pieces in ceramic and glass. The audience, too, will be able to create art, as paints will be available for the public.

Jeana has been studying music while at COA, both with faculty member John Cooper and with local classical guitarist Kevin Morse. Her compositions and style have been inspired by classical and jazz as well as rock.
