Parents

"If your student is bright, idealistic, curious, socially conscious, and courageous enough to explore his or her interests and talents, then consider looking into this little gem of a college." Karin and Richard Feldman | parents of Justin Feldman '07
Only one Major?
Just as prospective students have lots of questions about COA, prospective parents do too. Questions range from the limitless possibilities of our Human Ecology major to the financing of a COA education.
"Because COA requires students to take classes in a variety of areas, and not huge, boring lecture style ‘intro’ classes, Hannah is now exploring her interests in social-political realms. We know that the education she’s getting in how to think for herself, how to question, and how to really delve into a subject will serve her well no matter what career path she chooses." Moira and Jeff Hastings | parents of Hannah Hastings '08

"Lilly is like a kid in a candy store, excited about the course offerings, eager to engage with her fellow students and professors. But mostly, she is happy, open to the diversity that is COA learning."Steve Demers | 1980 alumnus and parent of Lilly Demers '12

COA: A Whole Way of Living
"As a parent, it intrigued me that the approach isn’t just a class from
three to five on Mondays and Wednesdays and then you go out and do the
typical things college kids do the rest of the time. It’s a whole way of
living— a philosophy of life that’s not taught, but lived by example."
Bill Huston | Parent of Justin '99 and Saer '02 Huston
