COA's residential life program fosters a collaborative living environment within a close-knit academic community. On-campus housing includes both residence halls as well as houses.

The Kathryn W. Davis Village, is the college's newest and "greenest" housing complex. The houses in the village are heated by our biomass pellet boiler system and are incredibly energy efficient. Read More >>
Off-Campus Housing
Approximately half of COA students live off-campus. There are numerous houses in Bar Harbor and the surrounding Mount Desert Island towns that are owned by summer visitors. Read More >>
Resident Advisors
Each house has at least one Resident Advisor (RA) living in it. The RAs are returning students who have been selected and trained to help new students make the transition to college life by providing guidance, support and access to campus resources.
Substance-Free Housing
The residential life program is also committed to providing substance-free housing for students who are committed to living in an environment free from alcohol or other drugs. COA will offer at least one substance-free house on campus and we will do our utmost to accommodate as many students as request substance-free housing.
