All students who enter COA as first-year students must meet the following course requirements in order to graduate:

• Human Ecology Core Course during the first year of attendance.
• One quantitative reasoning course, preferably during the first two years of attendance.
• One history course, preferably during the first two years of attendance.
• At least one writing course, and demonstrated writing proficiency.
• Two courses from each of the following resource areas: Arts and Design, Environmental Sciences, Human Studies.

Not all of these requirements apply to transfer students. Complete details may be found in our course catalog, which may be requested from the Office of Admission.
