College of the Atlantic is located in Bar Harbor on beautiful Mount Desert Island, Maine. The college's 35 waterfront acres overlook the ocean and are adjacent to Acadia National Park. The village of Bar Harbor is within walking distance of the campus and offers a wide variety of shops, restaurants and night spots, as well as art shows, evening concerts, and numerous other summer activities.

APPLICATIONS are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. A $20 processing fee should accompany your application.
PAYMENTS. A non-refundable $150 deposit is due 30 days after confirmation of your enrollment in the course and will be applied toward the total fees. Payment of the final balance is due 90 days prior to arrival. A purchase order from your school district is acceptable pre-payment and direct billing may also be pre-arranged. Students waiting for notification of school approval, school or grant funding should request an extension from the Summer Programs Office. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE - Although COA does not provide scholarship aid, nearly 60% of our participants received partial or full financial support from their schools, school districts, or from private foundations. Contact your school department for information about professional development support.
ACCOMMODATIONS: Single and shared rooms are available. Participants bring their own bed linens and towels. Twin beds, pillows, and blankets are provided. All bathrooms are shared.
REFUND POLICY: Refunds will be considered in the event of documented health or family emergencies. No refunds of tuition, fees, or room and board will be made after classes and programs begin.
OPTIONAL KAYAK TOUR(S): Many participants enjoy exploring the shores of Frenchman's Bay from a kayak. Fitness Adventures, a local vendor operating from our waterfront campus, provides equipment and guide service.
