This award acknowledges that by embracing GIS technology, College of the Atlantic has made extraordinary contributions to our global society and set new precedents throughout the GIS community. Recipients of the Special Achievement in GIS award are submitted by ESRI staff from thousands of organizations worldwide, then personally reviewed and selected by ESRI President Jack Dangermond.

GIS Laboratory Director Gordon Longsworth was presented with a Special Acheivement in GIS Award by ESRI President Jack Dangermond at the ESRI International User Conference held in San Diego this summer.
