The chinstrap penguin breeds exclusively on the Antarctic peninsula and certain islands of the southern Atlantic Ocean. Chinstraps feed predominantly on krill, and tend to nest in large colonies, preferring steep craggy slopes for nest building (Hosking and Sage 1982). Most of the below shots were taken at Halfmoon Island, 62°35'S, 59°54'W (see map). |
