The gentoo penguin is the most northerly breeder of the Pygoscelians. This species is very social, and extremely easy to approach. Most of the below shots were taken at Petermann Island, 65°11'S, 64°08'W, and Porquoi Pas, 67°43'S, 67°45'W (see map).
