College of the Atlantic's transatlantic partnership in sustainable food systems offers many new opportunities for students to study food and agriculture in Europe. Spend the month of August studying grains, bread-baking and food quality in the UK and Germany; plan an internship, residency or senior project at the Organic Research Centre developing educational programs, researching agricultural policy, or learning about organic farming in the UK; apply to study food business or sustainable agriculture in graduate school at the University of Kassel's Faculty of Organic Agricultural Sciences; learn about sensory science, the difference between EU and US organic standards and many other topics from a range of faculty visitors.

University of Kassel's Faculty of Organic Agricultural Sciences - Germany
Organic agriculture has been part of the curriculum of the University of Kassel’s (UoK) Witzenhausen campus for more than 25 years. UoK offers two international Masters of Science programs in collaboration with other German Universities, both of which are conducted in English and accessible to COA graduates: the MSc in Sustainable International Agriculture with a specialization in International Organic Agriculture (in partnership with the University of Goettingen) and the MSc in International Food Business and Consumer Studies (in partnership with the University of Fulda).
Organic Research Centre, Elm Farm – United Kingdom
The Organic Research Centre (ORC) is the UK's leading research, development and advisory institution for organic agriculture, having played a pivotal role in the development of organic research, policy and standards since 1980. The organization is based at Elm Farm, a 240 acre organic farm in Hamstead Marshall, west of London. Current research focuses on many areas of organics including agroforestry, grains, poultry systems and environmental auditing.
