BAR HARBOR — Join the College of the Atlantic’s Council on Foreign Affairs for a timely public discussion of the ongoing upheaval in Yemen. This facilitated talk is set for Tuesday, May 12, at 7 p.m. at Jesup Memorial Library, 34 Mount Desert St. in Bar Harbor.

The goal of the evening is to discuss as many aspects of the conflict – and reactions to it – as possible. Yemen is an Arab country at the southern end of the Arabian Peninsula, bordered by Saudi Arabia to the north, the Red Sea to the west, the Gulf of Aden and Arabian Sea to the south and Oman to the east. The country’s capital, Sana’a, has been under the control of rebel Houthis since February, and Saudi Arabia is leading a coalition to combat the rebels, including the use of airstrikes.

The event is free and open to all. Bring your questions, observations, and opinions. Light refreshments will be served.

Call the Jesup Memorial Library at 288-4245.
