Cosgrove is putting her “impossibly eclectic” COA education to good use as gardener and greenhouse manager for Living Classrooms of the National Capital Region. Her organization has teemed up with Waterfront Kitchens chef Chris Amendola to invigorate the BUGS (Baltimore Urban Gardening with Students) after school and summer programs.

Cosgrove’s work involves providing the cooking and nutrition curriculum with ingredients, as well as supplying Waterfront Kitchen with specialty produce. She’s happy, she says, to be in “a place where I can lend a hand to our broken food system with open eyes, an open mind and a lot of hard, dirty work.”
