Getting here:

My mother found out about this place from a friend. We decided to visit campus a few times and I just fell in love with the place.

Classes

Human Ecology, Weed Ecology, and Marine Biology.

Writing Seminar 1: Exposition, Biology Through the Lens, Curiosity & Wonder: Design and Interpretation in the Museum.

Favorite class:

Marine Biology at the moment, but this may change.

Internship:

Not sure exactly what I’d like to do yet, but it would be nice to work with birds.

Senior project:

Not a clue at the moment.

Life on Mount Desert Island:

It’s pretty cool here! There are so many places to explore and just enjoy nature. The varying habitats have me amazed at the possibilities of different flora and fauna that you may find. All I can say is, get out and explore!

Activities, traditions, celebrations:

I have created an unofficial ornithology club at the college, appropriately named COA Ornithology Club, which currently only has a few members, but I hope this will grow.

Passions & motivations:

I am passionate about conserving wildlife of all kinds, especially birds, as they are the driving force of much human curiosity, and we need to keep that alive.

Adventures yet to come:

Completing college and doing what I love best, working with wildlife!

Best meal on campus:

The glazed salmon is pretty darn good.

COA might be the right college for you if...

You feel like you’re different, and don’t exactly know your place. You have a deep sense of caring for the world, and everything in it. You’re weird. No matter which of these you are, plus more, you’ll fit right in.

Which came first, the chicken or the egg?
