Getting here:

Seven years ago my family and I took a trip to Acadia National Park, one of the best trips I had ever been on so far, little did I know 7 years later Acadia would be my back yard. When beginning my college search I had no idea where I wanted to go. I just knew I did not want to stay in Wisconsin. So that being said I decided to start my search in places that I loved. So, I searched “Bar Harbor, ME” this is where things really took off. I read over all of this site and I fell in love with COA, but there was now one road block, I wanted to tour before I committed except my parents could not take off work for the trip. This is when I decided to spend my summers earnings on College of the Atlantic’s Islands Through Time summer program. After the completion of the program I decided that COA was where I was meant to be.

Classes I’ve Taken:

Weed Ecology, Principles of Comedic Improv, Curiosity & Wonder in the Museum, Biology: Cellular Processes of life, and Journalism

My approach to human ecology:

Plants + Sculpture + Animals + People = Human Ecology

Life on Mount Desert Island:

Winter here is much warmer than Northern Wisconsin, which was a pleasant surprise.

Best meal on campus:

Crab/Shrimp Cakes

COA might be the right college for you if...

If you want the world you thought you knew to be flipped upside-down, distorted, and stretched into infinity.

Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

Does it really matter?
