Getting here:
After visiting COA as a prospective student I felt that I could thrive here. The people, community, ocean and Acadia helped make this place my home.
Favorite class:
Almost all of them! Introduction to Comedic Improvisation, Acadia The National Park Idea, and Group Dynamics have been a couple of my favorites. Improv made me step outside my comfort zone, laugh and touch a whole new area of expression. The Acadia class helped me to settle into Maine and explore the park on our weekly hikes. During this class I studied Witch Hole Pond and biked there twice a week to learn more about the place. These days in the park energized and grounded me. Group Dynamics was such a valuable course and opened a whole new set of doors to me. The evolution of a group and how we interact, grow and support each other unfolded over the term and taught me so much about myself.
My approach to human ecology:
Nature + climate + art + culture + transformative justice + writing + farming + food = human ecology
I am still discovering what Human Ecology means to me.
Life on Mount Desert Island:
I love biking everywhere and living so close to town. It’s so easy to see friends and run into fantastic people when I’m out and about! The Bar Harbor community is wonderful and welcoming!
