Before COA

Prior to COA, I roamed the foothills of western Maine as a child and adolescent. I spent time reading, hiking, paddling, geeking out over maps, and singing with a high school vocal ensemble. Both my father and school teachers encouraged me to learn by experience which ultimately drove my decision to attend COA. Human ecology would not limit me to one area of study; it would, in fact, do the exact opposite. The nature of human ecology requires one to be experiential and interdisciplinary in study, wedding theory and practice. And living between an ocean and a national park did not seem like a bad idea.

My most frequently asked question is...

What is human ecology?
