Getting here:
I was playing an add on for the post apocalyptic role playing game Fallout 4 set on Mount Desert Island and I thought to myself, “Geez this place is pretty cool, if only it were real” - turns out it was. And there was a school with a great marine biology program there too, go figure.

Life on Mount Desert Island:
Few places on this Earth have a higher concentration of delicious, local fried seafood than Mount Desert Island - if it aligns with your dietary preferences please run down to Beal’s Lobster Pier while it’s still warm outside, I promise you won’t regret it. If you’re more of a do-it-yourself kind of person then pick your own mussels off the boat ramp at Hadley Point - you get 40 a day with no license or registration necessary. The last place you need to go is approximately 3/4 of the way through Witch Hole Loop. You’ll know the spot I’m talking about when you get there - turn around, snap the best picture of your life, and show it to people in your hometown when they ask where you go to college.
