Before COA

Before joining COA, I worked mostly as a foreign language educator, teaching Chinese to adult learners and university students and English to adult learners and high school students. I also worked in various capacities while serving as a graduate assistant at the University of Maine, including teaching education-related courses and assisting faculty with research projects.

Scholarly and Creative Interests

Some areas of my current scholarly and teaching interests include: identity and language learning, critical language and literacy studies, social justice education, teacher education, and eduction in transnational contexts. I am also interested in  research methods that involve visual and narrative explorations of identity.
