Getting here:

I grew up homeschooled in rural Maine and did not want to leave Maine or self-directed education. COA checked all my boxes (diverse and highly specific classes, kitchens, and small student body)

Classes

FA 21- Writing for Nonprofits, Human Ecology Core Course, Intimate Partner Violence: Dynamics and Community Response

WW 22- Diaspora and Unbelonging, Introduction to Art Therapy, Understanding and Managing Group Dynamics

My approach to human ecology:

(community development + reproductive justice + social work + psychology) + (folk music + fiber arts + baking + nourishing relationships) = human ecology

Passions & motivations:

Reproductive rights, health, and justice; music; social dance; community mental health

Adventures yet to come:

Grad school (MSW and/or nonprofit management) and having space for my own garden

COA might be the right college for you if...

you want to study a little bit of everything and be a part of a supportive, driven community

Ephemera:

Singing with friends on the kitchen floor
