Favorite class:

Marine Biology! So many awesome field trips, and it helped me feel more connected to Mount Desert Island.

My approach to human ecology:

It’s a work in progress, but for now I’m just trying to keep my mind open to learning in unexpected places from unexpected people.

Internship:

I spent the summer of 2022 on Mount Desert Rock studying the intertidal organisms there and helping with a gull study. It was an absolutely incredible experience.

Adventures yet to come:

Getting better at boats!

Best meal on campus:

Cranberry-orange scones for breakfast have my eternal devotion.

COA might be the right college for you if...

you want to be surrounded and inspired by people who are excited about niche subjects, and by people who are still figuring out what they’re doing.

Ephemera:

walking on the Bar at night, stress-baking cookies, finding forgotten sea glass in coat pockets

Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

Definitely the egg. The first chicken hatched from an egg that was laid by a not-quite-chicken.
