Getting here:

Many many started and failed essays for other colleges, and the “why do you think you belong at College of the Atlantic?” essay that was started and finished in a matter of thirty minutes. Also, they showed me how to make delicious gluten free, vegan pretzels over zoom for the Fall Fly In. How could I NOT come??

Classes

Human Ecology Core Course, Constitutional Law, and Writing for Nonprofits

Favorite class:

All of them!

My approach to human ecology:

Food systems 🌱 + Water conservation 🌊 + Community Organizing 📝= Human Ecology

Life on Mount Desert Island:

Biking to get my groceries, studying by the ocean, walking the carriage roads in autumn. There is so much beauty here.

Passions & motivations:

We get to create the world we want to live in. I want to see thriving farmers, close-knit communities, and better education about environmental issues. We get to decide how to make that happen! Pretty exciting :)

Adventures yet to come:

Thru hiking the SHT, biking around Lake Superior, finishing another journal to add to the archives

COA might be the right college for you if...
