International students hike with their host families. International students hike with their host families.

The Community Connections Program (CCP) connects international students with local community members to engage in shared activities on an informal basis.

CCP is not a host-family program in the traditional sense that students actually live with local families, but rather a friendship program that encourages the development of more global perspectives for both the students and families through cultural exchange.  The CCP is a fully voluntary program, and relatively informal, with a few events a year run out of COA’s International OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Student Services office.

If you have any questions about the program or are interesting in participating in the future, please contact the Coordinator of International Student Services, Jason Ford, at jford@coa.edu.

“My host family are the best. They helped me with many, many things….even big things like helping me with homesickness. They take care of me and if I am in a problem I know that I can count on them. They give great advice and help me to navigate my future.”
