College of the Atlantic and Red Cross Nordic UWC Scholar Khadeeja Naseem ’10 shared her climate change expertise at the World Bank Live forum. World Bank Live is the World Bank’s event platform designed to engage global audiences in conversations about international development.
Naseem brought her expertise in climate change and energy policy to a forum entitled The Blue Economy and Climate Resilience. The panel highlights the importance of coral reef preservation in creating climate adaptation and resilience while ensuring sustainable income and food security for Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
Naseem is the Minister of State for the Environment, Climate Change and Technology in the Maldives. As minister, Naseem oversees policies related to climate change and energy. Prior to her role as state minister, she worked on various developmental projects in the Maldives funded by the World Bank. She also has experience in climate finance and disaster risk management.
