On Saturday, March 7th, the Maine Coastal Islands NWR Visitor Center brings a hands-on program about whale ecology from College of the Atlantic. People of all ages will enjoy learning about Maine whales while they assemble the skeleton of a juvenile minke whale and examine baleen, krill and other marine mammal artifacts. This program is free thanks to the support from Friends of Maine’s Seabird Islands (FOMSI).

There will be two programs on March 7th, one at 11 a.m. and another at 1:00 p.m. Space is limited. To guarantee a spot, call 594-0600, extension 5 or email fomsi@maineseabirds.org. Leave your name, phone number, number of children and adults participating and which session you are attending. Please plan to arrive fifteen minutes before start time. We will take “walk-ins” at quarter to the hour if space is available.
