Grassroots Writing Research Journal

Interested in publishing about writing, literate activities, and the multimodal and diverse ways that we communicate with each other? The Grassroots Writing Research Journal published by Illinois State University’s Writing Program is a great way to become familiar with writing for a diverse audience and the publishing process. They accept manuscripts from diverse writers who address writing in all kinds of everyday, professional, and academic contexts. Examples of what authors have written about include multilingual writing, the genre of cereal boxes (yes, the stuff you eat for breakfast!), spam emails, K-pop, and so much more! You can find additional information on their website.

Nortons Writer’s Prize

The publishing company, W. W. Norton & Company, hosts an annual writing competition that calls for nonfiction manuscripts from undergraduate students. Winners receive a cash prize and their manuscript is published in a collection. Find more information on their website.
