Resources for Students

Dorr Museum of Natural History

The Dorr Museum isn’t just a public gallery—it’s a dynamic learning environment where COA students can study, experiment, and exhibit their work. From museum studies and exhibit fabrication to event hosting and science communication, students use the museum as a launchpad for academic exploration and professional development.

Museum studies at COA

Students can explore a variety of museum-focused topics through hands-on courses and projects. Areas of study include:

  • Exhibit design and fabrication
  • Graphic design and signage
  • Scientific illustration and nature photography
  • Collections management and care
  • Public programming and education
  • Experiential education and informal learning

Students may also pursue independent studies, internships, or senior projects in collaboration with the museum.
