College of the Atlantic Family Weekend takes place on Indigenous Peoples Day (formerly known as Columbus Day) weekend every year. October is a perfect time to be on Mount Desert Island. The foliage is gorgeous, the campus is in full swing, and Bar Harbor has quieted down (a little!) from the summer tourist season. Whether it is your first visit back, or you’ve been here many times before, we look forward to seeing you.
Family Weekend events include:
- A welcome reception with COA President Darron Collins ’92
- A chance to sit in on some classes
- A trip on our boat R/V Osprey to explore Frenchman Bay
- Hikes and outings in Acadia National Park
- A chance to join, or just enjoy, our annual Fall Community Show
