Earth Week: Invasive barberry removal
Elizabeth Battles Newlin Chair in Botany Susan Letcher leads a volunteer effort to control the numbers of spiny, invasive barberry plants at College of the Atlantic Peggy Rockefeller Farm as part of the Earth Week celebration. Barberry is often planted decoratively but forms dense thickets when left unchecked, preventing the growth of native plants.
